จีนสลดพบ 21 รายสังเวย – วันที่ 23 พ.ค. ไชน่าเดลี รายงานเหตุสลดระหว่างการแข่งขัน วิ่งมาราธอนตามภูมิประเทศ (ครอสคันทรี) ระยะทาง 100 กิโลเมตรในมณฑลกานซู ทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือของ ประเทศจีน
หลังเกิดสภาพอากาศเลวร้าย มีพายุลูกเห็บ ฝนตก และลมกระโชกแรงในพื้นที่ป่าหินแม่น้ำเหลือง เขตจิงไถ เมืองไป๋อิน ที่ระดับความความสูง 20-31 กิโลเมตร ตั้งแต่ช่วงบ่ายวันเสาร์ที่ 22 พ.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น
ส่งผลให้ผู้ร่วมแข่งขันเสียชีวิตแล้วอย่างน้อย 21 ราย ขณะที่หน่วยฉุกเฉินเร่งค้นหาและช่วยเหลือผู้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันที่ยังสูญหาย
