เร่งดับไฟป่า! ปกป้อง “นายพลเชอร์แมน” สนยักษ์สูง 83 เมตร-ไม้ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก
เร่งดับไฟป่า! – วันที่ 18 ก.ย. เอเอฟพี รายงานว่า เจ้าหน้าที่ดับเพลิงสหรัฐอเมริกาเร่งดับไฟป่าพาราไดซ์ไฟร์และโคโลนีไฟร์ใน รัฐแคลิฟอร์เนีย หลังปะทุจากพายุฟ้าผ่าเมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อน และเพราะสภาพอากาศร้อนแห้งแล้งต่อเนื่อง ส่งผลให้ไฟลุกลามเผาวอดไปแล้วกว่า 28,750 ไร่
ทั้งยังเข้าใกล้พื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติสนยักษ์ซีคัวญาซึ่งมีตต้นสนซีคัวญาราว 2,000 ต้น รวมถึงต้นสน 4 ต้นที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกซึ่งตระหง่านมานานถึง 3,000 ปี และต้นสนยักษ์ซีคัวญาที่ชื่อว่า “นายพลเชอร์แมน” ต้นไม้ที่สูงที่สุดในโลกถึง 83 เมตร
