อินเดียปลิดชีพ “เสือกินคนแห่งจำปารัน” หลังบุกชุมชนขย้ำดับ 9 ศพ 8 ขวบดับด้วย
อินเดียปลิดชีพ – เอเอฟพี รายงานวันที่ 10 ต.ค. ว่า ตำรวจอินเดียยิงดับเสือที่ถูกตั้งฉายาว่า “เสือกินคนแห่งจำปารัน” หลังบุกเข้าเขตชุมชนติดศูนย์อนุรักษ์พันธุ์เสือในภูมิภาคจำปารัน ของรัฐพิหาร ทางตะวันออกของ ประเทศอินเดีย และฆ่าชาวบ้าน 9 รายในช่วงระยะเวลากว่า 1 เดือนที่ผ่านมา
ในจำนวนนี้รวมถึงหญิงสาวกับลูกชายวัย 8 ขวบที่ถูกเสือขย้ำเสียชีวิตเมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 8 ต.ค. และก่อนหน้านั้นเด็กหญิงวัย 12 ปีถูกเสือตัวเดียวกันบุกโจมตีลากจากเตียงนอนไปเมื่อค่ำวันพุธที่ 5 ต.ค.

ทั้งนี้ อินเดียเป็นแหล่งที่อยู่อาศัยของเสือโคร่งประมาณร้อยละ 70 ของโลก มีประชากรจากการสำรวจเมื่อปี 2561 ประมาณ 2,967 ตัว ขณะเดียวกันก็เผชิญหน้ากับปัญหาสัตว์ป่าทำร้ายผู้คนบ่อยครั้ง ส่วนหนึ่งเป็นเพราะชุมชนหลายแห่งขยายหรือรุกล้ำพื้นที่ป่า
และระหว่างปี 2557-2562 มีผู้เสียชีวิตจากการถูกเสือกัดเกือบ 225 ราย ขณะที่ประชากรเสือกว่า 200 ตัวตายจากการถูกล่าหรือโดนรั้วไฟฟ้าชอร์ต ในช่วงปี 2555-2561
The big cat had terrorised locals on the fringes of the Valmiki Tiger Reserve in Champaran in eastern India, killing at least six people in the past month, including a woman and her eight-year-old son on Saturday. Even before the two latest kills, authorities had designated the tiger, reportedly a male three or four years old, as a “man-eater”, meaning that it could be shot. Earlier attempts to tranquillise the animal had failed.
Officials said that large sugarcane fields made it easier for the tiger to stay hidden and attack local villagers and their livestock. The victims included a 12-year-old girl dragged from her bed on Wednesday night, reports said. /timesofindia/
