ปากีสถาน “ฝนกระหน่ำ” – วันที่ 12 มิ.ย. เอเอฟพี และ สเตรตส์ไทมส์ รายงานสถานการณ์ภัยพิบัติใน ประเทศปากีสถาน หลังเกิดพายุฝนตกหนักและลมกระโชกแรงในพื้นที่ 4 เขตของแคว้นไคเบอร์ปัคตูนควา ทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ว่า พบผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 27 ราย
เจ้าหน้าที่ท้องถิ่นระบุว่าผู้เสียชีวิต 12 รายถูกหลังคาบ้านและกำแพงถล่มทับ อีก 15 รายเป็นเหยื่อในเขตบันนุ รวมถึงพี่น้องครอบครัวเดียวกัน 5 ราย อายุระหว่าง 2-11 ขวบ นอกจากนี้ยังมีผู้บาดเจ็บอีก 140 คน และปศุสัตว์ตายมากกว่า 200 ตัว

ด้านหน่วยงานจัดการภัยพิบัติแห่งชาติ (เอ็นดีเอ็มเอ) แถลงแนะนำให้ประชาชนอพยพจากพื้นที่เสี่ยงตามแนวชายฝั่งตอนใต้ เนื่องจากพายุไซโคลน “บีปอร์จอย” ที่ความเร็วลมสูงสุด 232 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง กำลังเคลื่อนตัวจากทะเลอาหรับมายังปากีสถานและอินเดีย
หน่วยงานเอ็นดีเอ็มเอยังระบุจากศูนย์ภัยพิบัติแปซิฟิก (พีดีซี) ประชาชนราว 1.38 ล้านคนในปากีสถานและอินเดียจะได้รับผลกระทบจากพายุไซโคลน และในจำนวนนี้กว่า 305,755 คนเป็นกลุ่มประชากรที่เปราะบาง
ทั้งนี้ ในปี 2565 ปากีสถานเผชิญหน้ากับพายุมรสุมรุนแรงในช่วงฤดูร้อนซึ่งเป็นสถานการณ์ที่ไม่เคยปรากฏมาก่อน ส่งผลให้พื้นที่ 1 ใน 3 ของประเทศจมอยู่ใต้น้ำ สร้างความเสียหายแก่บ้านเรือนราว 2 ล้านหลัง และคร่าชีวิตผู้คนไปมากกว่า 1,700 ราย

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Sunday urged people to stay away from shorelines as Cyclone Biparjoy – which is heading towards the coastal areas of Pakistan and India – was about 760km south of Karachi. Meanwhile, the NDMA quoted the Pacific Disaster Centre (PDC) stating that around 1.38 million people from Pakistan and India were exposed to the cyclone, and 305,755 of these people belonged to vulnerable populations. /zoom.earth/
