บัสลื่นไถล “ชนยับ-พลิกคว่ำ” – เอเอฟพี รายงานวันที่ 27 ก.ค. ว่า เกิดเหตุรถบัสชนในเมืองลูกา ทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือของ เซเนกัล ประเทศในภูมิภาคแอฟริกาตะวันตก เมื่อเวลาราว 07.40 น. ของวันพุธที่ 26 ก.ค. ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น เบื้องต้นมีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 24 ราย และอีก 54 คนได้รับบาดเจ็บ
ด้านกระทรวงกิจการภายในของเซเนกัลแถลงว่ารถบัสคันดังกล่าวมีผู้โดยสารมากถึง 76 คน ทั้งที่รองรับน้ำหนักได้มากที่สุดเพียง 60 คน

ขณะที่หน่วยกู้ภัยและดับเพลิงท้องถิ่นเปิดเผยว่ารถบัสลื่นไถลก่อนพุ่งชนข้างทางและพลิกคว่ำ ส่วนสาเหตุยังอยู่ระหว่างการสอบสวน
ทั้งนี้ อุบัติเหตุทางจราจรเกิดขึ้นบ่อยครั้งในเซเนกัล ส่วนหนึ่งเพราะสภาพถนนที่ไม่ได้รับการบำรุงซ่อมแซม โดยเมื่อเดือนม.ค.2566 มีเหตุรถบัสประสานงานคร่าผู้โดยสารราว 40 รายในพื้นที่ตอนกลางของประเทศ และไม่กี่สัปดาห์ต่อมาก็มีเหตุรถชนใกล้เมืองลูกา ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต 19 ราย และบาดเจ็บ 24 คน
