หลังคว้าชัยชนะเหนือน.ส.ลุยซา กอนซาเลซ คู่แข่งจากพรรคขบวนการปฏิวัติพลเมือง พรรคประชานิยมฝ่ายซ้าย และตัวแทนของอดีตประธานาธิบดีราฟาเอล กอร์เรอา ในการเลือกตั้งรอบแรกเมื่อเดือนส.ค.ที่ผ่านมา
และส่งผลให้นายโนโบอาขึ้นแท่นเตรียมเป็นผู้นำประเทศที่มีอายุน้อยที่สุดเป็นประวัติการณ์ของเอกวาดอร์ โดยประชาชนตั้งความหวังว่าผู้นำคนใหม่จะแก้วิกฤตอาชญากรรมและความรุนแรงในประเทศที่อัตราการฆาตกรรมเพิ่มขึ้นไปกว่า 4 เท่าในช่วง 2561-2565
