สถานีโทรทัศน์ซีซีทีวีรายงานว่า เจ้าหน้าที่ 1,259 นายจากทีมกู้ภัยและดับเพลิง พร้อมด้วยเฮลิคอปเตอร์ 5 ลำเร่งระดมกำลังดับไฟป่า
นอกจากนี้ทางการท้องถิ่น มณฑลยูนนาน เปิดเผยว่าส่งเจ้าหน้าที่ดับเพลิง 831 นาย เจ้าหน้าที่กู้ภัย 750 นาย และเฮลิคอปเตอร์ 3 ลำเพื่อดับไฟป่าที่ลุกลามมายังมณฑลยูนนานซึ่งมีพรมแดนติดกับเสฉวน ทั้งยังอพยพประชาชนเกือบ 3,400 คนจาก 11 หมู่บ้านที่ได้รับผลกระทบไปยังศูนย์พักพิงชั่วคราว
ด้านผู้เชี่ยวชาญระบุว่าไฟป่าที่เกิดขึ้นบ่อยครั้งมีความเกี่ยวข้องอย่างมากกับสภาพภูมิอากาศที่ร้อนขึ้นประกอบกับปริมาณฝนที่ลดลง ส่วนสาเหตุของไฟป่ายังอยู่ระหว่างสอบสวน
