สวิตเซอร์แลนด์สลด – เอพี และ บีบีซี รายงานความคืบหน้าหลังเกิดเหตุไฟไหม้รุนแรงที่ “บาร์ เลอ คอนสเตลเลซียง” (Le Constellation) ในสกีรีสอร์ตครอ-มอนตานา แหล่งท่องเที่ยวยอดนิยมบนเทือกเขาแอลป์ของ สวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ขณะจัดงานส่งท้ายปีเก่าต้อนรับปีใหม่ ไม่ถึง 2 ชั่วโมงหลังเวลาเที่ยงคืนของวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 1 ม.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น
เบื้องต้นพบมีผู้เสียชีวิตราว 40 ราย และได้รับบาดเจ็บ 115 ราย โดยส่วนใหญ่มีอาการสาหัส และถือเป็นหนึ่งในโศกนาฏกรรมที่เลวร้ายที่สุดของประเทศ

ด้านอัยการสูงสุดรัฐวาเลระบุว่ายังเร็วเกินไปที่จะชี้ชัดถึงสาเหตุของเพลิงไหม้และผู้เชี่ยวชาญยังไม่สามารถเข้าไปตรวจสอบภายในซากอาคารที่เสียหายได้ ส่วนทางการท้องถิ่นประกาศลดธงชาติลงครึ่งเสาเป็นเวลา 5 วันเพื่อไว้อาลัยแก่เหยื่อ และย้ำว่าโศกนาฏกรรมในระดับนี้จะต้องไม่เกิดขึ้นอีก
ขณะเดียวกัน กระทรวงการต่างประเทศของอิตาลีเปิดเผยว่ามีพลเมืองชาวอิตาลี 16 คนที่สูญหายหลังเหตุไฟไหม้ที่บาร์ดังกล่าว ก่อนเสริมว่าพบตัวผู้สูญหายอีก 12-15 คนแล้วและอยู่ระหว่างเข้ารับการรักษาที่โรงพยาบาล ในจำนวนนี้ 3 คนบาดเจ็บสาหัสและจะถูกส่งตัวกลับอิตาลีในเร็วๆ นี้
