แหล่งข่าวเผยกรีซทุ่ม – รอยเตอร์ รายงานวันที่ 17 มี.ค. ว่า แหล่งข่าวเปิดเผยว่าคณะกรรมการรัฐสภาของกรีซอนุมัติแผนจัดซื้อระบบป้องกันภัยทางอากาศและโดรนแบบหลายชั้น มูลค่า 3,000 ล้านยูโร (ราว 111,642 ล้านบาท) และยกระดับเครื่องบินขับไล่เอฟ-16 จำนวน 38 ลำ โดยมีค่าใช้จ่ายรวมประมาณ 4,000 ล้านยูโร (กว่า 148,856 ล้านบาท)

นอกจากนี้กรีซกำลังเจรจากับอิสราเอลเพื่อจัดหาระบบขีปนาวุธส่วนใหญ่สำหรับโดมที่เรียกว่า “อคิลลีสชิลด์” (Achilles Shield) โครงการป้องกันภัยทางอากาศขนาดใหญ่ที่กรีซริเริ่มเมื่อเดือนเม.ย.2568 ซึ่งมีค่าใช้จ่ายที่ 3,000 ล้านยูโร (หรือกว่า 111,642 ล้านบาท)
แหล่งข่าวเสริมว่า กรีซวางแผนที่จะยกระดับเครื่องบินเอฟ-16 บล็อก 50 อีก 38 ลำซึ่งผลิตในช่วงทศวรรษ 1990 ให้เป็นรุ่นไวเปอร์ที่ทันสมัย กรีซมีฝูงบินเอฟ-16 ประมาณ 150 ลำ และได้ทำการยกระดับไปแล้ว 40 ลำ
Greece is already in talks with Israel to provide a big part of the missile systems for the dome, called “Achilles Shield” with an estimated cost of about 3 billion euros. “The parliament committee approved the project and also the upgrade of the F-16s,” said a senior source with direct knowledge of the issue.
