“นี่คือจำนวนนักปีนเขามากที่สุดในวันเดียวเท่าที่เคยมีมา” นายภันดารีกล่าวพร้อมเสริมว่าจำนวนอาจเพิ่มขึ้นอีกเนื่องจากนักปีนเขาบางคนที่ขึ้นไปถึงยอดเขาแล้วอาจยังไม่ได้แจ้งเบสแคมป์ถึงความสำเร็จในการพิชิตยอดเขาสูงกว่า 8,848 เมตร

เนปาลออกใบอนุญาตปีนเขาเอเวอเรสต์ 492 ใบในช่วงปีนเขาฤดูใบไม้ผลิในปีนี้ โดยนักปีนเขาแต่ละคนจะต้องจ่ายสูงถึง 15,000 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือกว่า 489,900 บาท
