ชายคนดังกล่าวซึ่งเชื่อว่าเป็นพ่อของเด็กให้การกับตำรวจว่าไม่ได้ตั้งใจจะฆ่าลูก “เขาร้องไห้เสียงดังและผมคิดว่าผมจะทำให้เขาเงียบได้ถ้าผมทำอะไรแบบนั้น”

เป็นเหตุให้เด็กชายเสียชีวิตจากภาวะหายใจล้มเหลว และผู้เป็นแม่ของเด็กชายตัดสินใจโทรศัพท์แจ้งเหตุฉุกเฉินในบ่ายวันเดียวกันหลังลูกชายเสียชีวิตแล้ว
