สหรัฐลุยปิดเว็บไซต์ อ้าง WHO แจกฟรี “วัคซีนกันโควิด” ล้วงข้อมูลส่วนตัว-บัญชีธนาคาร
สหรัฐลุยปิดเว็บไซต์ – วันที่ 23 มี.ค. เอเอฟพี และ ฟอร์บส์ รายงานว่า กระทรวงยุติธรรมสหรัฐอเมริกาแถลงปิดเว็บไซต์ coronavirusmedicalkit.com ที่อ้างว่ามี วัคซีนป้องกันโรคโควิด-19 ถือเป็นการดำเนินคดีฉ้อโกงคดีแรกในสหรัฐที่เกี่ยวเนื่องกับการแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโคโรนาสายพันธุ์ใหม่
โดยทางการย้ำว่ายังไม่มีวัคซีนป้องกันโควิด-19 ภายหลังสถาบันภูมิแพ้และโรคติดต่อแห่งชาติสหรัฐเพิ่งประกาศเริ่มทดสอบวัคซีนดังกล่าวกับมนุษย์เป็นครั้งแรกเมื่อวันที่ 16 มี.ค.ที่ผ่านมา
ผู้พิพากษากลางรัฐเท็กซัสมีคำสั่งให้ปิดและดำเนินคดีกับเว็บไซต์ coronavirusmedicalkit.com หลังโพสต์ข้อความบนเว็บเพจว่า
“จากการระบาดของไวรัสโคโรนา (โควิด-19) องค์การอนามัยโลก (ฮู) มีนโยบายแจกฟรีชุดวัคซีนป้องกันโรค แค่จ่ายค่าขนส่ง 4.95 ดอลลาร์ (ราว 163 บาท) เท่านั้น” โดยด้านล่างข้อความมีพื้นที่สำหรับกรอกข้อมูลที่อยู่ รวมถึงรายละเอียดของบัญชีธนาคารสำหรับหักค่าขนส่ง

เบื้องต้นกระทรวงยุติธรรมไม่ได้เปิดเผยว่ามีผู้หลงเชื่อจนตกเป็นเหยื่อกี่คน แต่ระบุว่ายังเร่งสอบสวนหาบุคคลที่พัวพันกับเว็บไซต์นี้ รวมทั้งตรวจสอบว่าหาผลประโยชน์จากการหลอกลวง และยักยอกทรัพย์จากเหยื่อเป็นมูลค่าเท่าไหร่
ด้าน นายบิล บาร์ อัยการสูงสุดของสหรัฐ กล่าวเรียกร้องให้อัยการกลางให้ความสำคัญกับการยับยั้งการเผยแพร่ข้อมูลเท็จเกี่ยวกับโรคโควิด-19 หลังจากศูนย์ภัยคุกคามการฉ้อโกงแห่งชาติแจ้งว่ามีรายงานผู้ตกเป็นเหยื่อข้อมูลเท็จเรื่องการแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสมรณะจำนวนมาก
พร้อมเตือนประชาชนว่าอย่าหลงเชื่อแก๊งหลอกลวงที่อ้างว่ามียาหรือวัคซีนต้านโควิด-19 โดยปลอมแปลงอีเมล์ขององค์การอนามัยโลก หรือศูนย์ควบคุมและป้องกันโรคติดต่อแห่งชาติ (ซีดีซี) เนื่องจากแก๊งเหล่านี้มีเป้าหมายในการขโมยข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล
