โควิด: มะนิลาคลาย – วันที่ 1 มิ.ย. เซาท์ไชน่ามอร์นิงโพสต์ รายงานว่า ทางการ กรุงมะนิลา ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ คลายมาตรการ ล็อกดาวน์ หลังบังคับใช้มานานถึง 76 วัน ตั้งแต่วันที่ 16 มี.ค. ซึ่งถือเป็นหนึ่งในเมืองที่มีการล็อกดาวน์นานที่สุดในโลก เพื่อเร่งฟื้นฟูระบบเศรษฐกิจที่ซบเซาอย่างหนัก
โดยอนุญาตให้ร้านค้าส่วนใหญ่กลับมาเปิดธุรกิจได้ ประชาชนสามารถทำงานได้ตามปกติ ขณะที่ระบบขนส่งมวลชนกลับมาให้บริการบางส่วน แต่ต้องปฏิบัติตามมาตรการเว้นระยะห่างทางสังคม
อย่างไรก็ตาม เด็กและผู้สูงอายุไม่ได้รับอนุญาตให้ออกจากบ้าน เนื่องจากเป็นกลุ่มผู้มีความเสี่ยงสูง ยกเว้นในกรณีของผู้สูงอายุที่ทำงานสำคัญหรือเป็นระดับผู้บริหารที่ต้องดูแลหน่วยงาน กิจการ และบริษัท ซึ่งทั้งหมดทั้งมวลยังต้องทำตามเคอร์ฟิว ห้ามนอกนอกเคหะสถานในยามวิกาล

ท่ามกลางกระแสวิตกกังวลว่าจะเกิดการระบาดระลอก 2 ภายหลังจำนวนผู้ติดเชื้อใหม่รายวันยังสูงต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งในช่วง 24 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา พบผู้ป่วยใหม่ 862 คน ส่งผลให้ยอดผู้ติดเชื้อสะสมเพิ่มเป็น 18,086 คน และเสียชีวิตแล้วอย่างน้อย 957 ราย
ทางการกรุงมะนิลาระบุอีกว่า ในวันที่ 15 มิ.ย. จะคลายมาตรการล็อกดาวน์ระยะ 3 ซึ่งจะผ่อนคลายมากขึ้น อนุญาตให้รถบัสสายด่วนกลับมาให้บริการอีกครั้ง เช่นเดียวกับรถไฟ แต่รถบัสประเภทอื่นๆ รวมถึงรถจี๊ปนีย์ หรือรถสองแถวของฟิลิปปินส์ จะไม่สามารถกลับมาให้บริการได้จนกว่าจะถึงวันที่ 22 มิ.ย. ซึ่งเป็นกำหนดยกเลิกควบคุมระบบขนส่งมวลชนทั้งหมด
