ลอนดอนผงะ – เดลีเมล์ รายงานวันที่ 9 ก.ค. ว่า เมื่อเวลาราว 14.00 น. ของวันพุธที่ 8 ก.ค. ตามเวลาท้องถิ่นของ ประเทศอังกฤษ เกิดเหตุ เครนก่อสร้าง ความยาวเกือบ 20 เมตร พังถล่มทับอพาร์ตเมนต์ที่กำลังก่อสร้างและทะลุหลังคาบ้าน 2 หลัง บนถนนคอมป์ตันโคลส เขตโบว์ ทางตะวันออกของ กรุงลอนดอน ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 1 ราย และอีก 4 คนได้รับบาดเจ็บ
ด้านหน่วยพยาบาลฉุกเฉินกรุงลอนดอนเปิดเผยว่าผู้เคราะห์ร้ายเป็นหญิง และพบเสียชีวิตในจุดเกิดเหตุ ขณะเดียวกันเจ้าหน้าที่กู้ภัยยังระดมกำลังค้นหาผู้สูญหายอีก 1 คนที่คาดว่าติดอยู่ใต้ซากบ้าน 1 ใน 2 หลัง ส่วนสาเหตุยังอยู่ระหว่างการสอบสวน
นางซาฮานา เบกุม ผู้ที่อาศัยอยู่ในละแวกใกล้เคียง เปิดเผยว่าได้ยินเสียงกระแทกดังสนั่นเลยวิ่งออกจากบ้านมาดูว่าเกิดอะไรขึ้น ตนได้ยินคนตะโกนว่าเครนพัง และมีเสียงโหวกเหวก รวมถึงเสียงร้องขอความช่วยเหลือ ขณะที่ชาวบ้านเริ่มออกมามุงดูและพยายามช่วยผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งจากจากชั้นสองของบ้านที่ถูกเครนทับ
