โควิด: วันแรกของอิสราเอล – วันที่ 18 เม.ย. เอพี รายงานว่า อิสราเอลยกเลิกการบังคับสวมหน้ากากอนามัยในที่สาธารณะแล้ว พร้อมกลับมาเปิดโรงเรียนเต็มรูปแบบอีกครั้ง นับเป็นการผ่อนปรนมาตรการป้องกันโควิด-19 ครั้งล่าสุดของประเทศ หลังดำเนินโครงการฉีดวัคซีนแก่ประชาชนเป็นวงกว้างในเดือนธ.ค.ปีที่แล้ว จนยอดผู้ติดเชื้อร้ายแรงและผู้เสียชีวิตลดลงอย่างรวดเร็วและทำให้เศรษฐกิจกลับมาเปิดเต็มรูปแบบอีกครั้ง

อิสราเอลฉีดวัคซีนแก่ประชากรส่วนใหญ่อย่างรวดเร็วเพื่อป้องกันไวรัสโคโรนาในโครงการฉีดวัคซีนที่นำหน้าหลายประเทศทั่วโลก อิสราเอลยังยกเลิกข้อจำกัดส่วนใหญ่และประกาศเมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อนจะกลับมาเปิดประเทศอีกครั้งเพื่อฉีดวัคซีนแก่นักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติในเดือนพ.ค.ที่จะถึงนี้

นพ.นักมัน อัช ผู้เชี่ยวชาญไวรัสโคโรนาของอิสราเอล ให้สัมภาษณ์วิทยุสาธารณะอิสราเอล ว่า การเลิกบังคับสวมหน้ากากอนามัยในที่แจ้งและกลับมาเริ่มชั้นเรียนอีกครั้งเป็น “ความเสี่ยงที่มีการคำนวณมาล่วงหน้าแล้ว”
ทั้งนี้ ตั้งแต่เริ่มการระบาดใหญ่เมื่อปีที่แล้ว อิสราเอลมียอดผู้ติดเชื้อกว่า 836,000 คน และเสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 6,331 ราย ตามกระทรวงสาธารณสุขอิสราเอล ในส่วนของการฉีดวัคซีน ร้อยละ 53 จากประชากร 9.3 ล้านคน ได้รับวัคซีนไฟเซอร์/บิออนเทคครบ 2 โดสแล้ว
