วอนช่วยดับ “ไฟป่า” ไซปรัสอ่วมคลื่นความร้อน-อุณหภูมิทะลุ 40 องศาฯ
วอนช่วยดับ “ไฟป่า” – วันที่ 4 ก.ค. วอชิงตันโพสต์ รายงานว่า ทางการไซปรัส ประเทศเกาะในทะเลเมดิเตอร์เรเนียน แถลงร้องขอความช่วยเหลือจากชาติสมาชิกสหภาพยุโรป (อียู) ภายหลังเผชิญกับ คลื่นความร้อน และอุณหภูมิที่พุ่งสูงกว่า 40 องศาเซลเซียส ส่งผลให้ไฟป่าในเขตลิมาสซอล ทางตอนใต้ ลุกลามเป็นบริเวณกว้าง จนต้องประกาศอพยพประชาชนในหลายหมู่บ้าน
ด้านตำรวจระบุว่าควบคุมตัวชายวัย 67 ปีไปสอบปากคำเกี่ยวกับต้นตอของไฟป่า ขณะที่ประธานาธิบดีนิคอส อนาสตาเซียเดส ผู้นำไซปรัส แถลงขอบคุณรัฐบาลกรีซและอิสราเอลที่รับปากจะเร่งส่งเครื่องบินมาช่วยเหลือในปฏิบัติการณ์ดับไฟป่า
ส่วนอิตาลีกำลังส่งเรื่องบินอีก 2 ลำมาสมทบ และฐานทัพอังกฤษ 2 แห่งบนเกาะไซปรัสส่งเจ้าหน้าที่ทหารร่วมภารกิจดับไฟป่ากับหน่วยดับเพลิงและตำรวจของไซปรัส
