ฟ้าผ่าคร่า 11 คน – วันที่ 12 ก.ค. บีบีซี รายงานสถานการณ์ภัยพิบัติทางธรรมชาติใน ประเทศอินเดีย หลังเกิด ฟ้าผ่า เป็นบริเวณกว้างในเมืองชัยปุระ รัฐราชสถาน ทางตอนเหนือของประเทศ เมื่อวันอาทิตย์ที่ 12 ก.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 11 ราย
เจ้าหน้าที่ระบุว่าเหยื่อถูกฟ้าผ่าระหว่างถ่ายรูปเซลฟี่กลางสายฝนบนหอคอยของป้อมปราการอาเมร์ โบราณสถานจากศวรรษที่ 12 และแหล่งท่องเที่ยวขึ้นชื่อของเมืองชัยปุระ นอกจากนี้ยังมีผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บอีก 27 คน บางส่วนยืนอยู่บนหอคอย บางส่วนเดินอยู่แถวกำแพงป้อม และมีรายงานว่าบางคนกระโดดจากหอคอยตกลงไปข้างล่างด้วย

นายอโศก เคห์ลอต มุขมนตรีรัฐราชสถาน แถลงให้ความช่วยเหลือครอบครัวผู้เสียชีวิตเป็นเงิน 500,000 รูปี หรือเกือบ 220,000 บาท ขณะที่สำนักอุตุนิยมวิทยาอินเดีย (ไอเอ็มดี) ระบุว่าจำนวนผู้เสียชีวิตจากฟ้าผ่าในประเทศเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นสองเท่าตั้งแต่ทศวรรษที่ 1960
จากข้อมูลที่รวบรวมได้พบว่ามีเหตุฟ้าผ่าเพิ่มขึ้นราวร้อยละ 30-40 ระหว่างช่วงต้นถึงช่วงกลางทศวรรษที่ 1990 ในปี 2561 รัฐอานธรประเทศมีเหตุฟ้าผ่ามากเป็นประเวัติการณ์ที่ 36,749 ครั้งในเวลาเพียง 13 ชั่งโมง และตั้งแต่ปี 2547 มีชาวอินเดียถูกฟ้าผ่าเสียชีวิตเฉลี่ย 2,000 รายต่อปี

Some 27 people were on the tower and the wall of the fort when the incident happened – and some of them reportedly jumped to the ground. Lightning strikes have been killing 2,000 Indians on average since 2004. ANI

The data says that lightning incidents too have increased by 30%-40% since the early to mid-1990s. In 2018 the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh recorded 36,749 lightning strikes in just 13 hours. (Sharat Kumar/India Today)
