เตือนสึนามิถล่ม “อะแลสกา” หลังดินไหว 8.2 แม็กนิจูด-แนะอพยพขึ้นที่สูง!
เตือนสึนามิถล่ม “อะแลสกา” – วันที่ 29 ก.ค. สำนักธรณีวิทยาสหรัฐอเมริกา (ยูเอสจีเอส) รายงานว่า เมื่อเวลา 06.15 น. ตามเวลามาตรฐานโลก (ยูทีซี) พบ แผ่นดินไหว รุนแรงขนาด 8.2 แม็กนิจูด ปรับเพิ่มจาก 7.2 แม็กนิจูดที่ระบุก่อนหน้านี้ จุดศูนย์กลางอยู่ห่างจากเพอร์รีวิลล์ รัฐอลาสกา ไปทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือราว 91 กิโลเมตร และลึกลงไปใต้ทะเลในอ่าวอะแลสกาเกือบ 47 กิโลเมตร
เบื้องต้นสำนักพยากรณ์อากาศแห่งชาติของสหรัฐ (เอ็นดับเบิลยูเอส) ประกาศเตือนภัยคลื่นสึนามิและคลื่นทะเลรุนแรงต่อเนื่อง พร้อมแนะนำให้ประชาชนในพื้นที่เสี่ยงใกล้ชายฝั่งเร่งอพยพขึ้นที่สูง
ทั้งนี้ รัฐอะแลสกาเผชิญกับแผ่นดินไหวบ่อยครั้งเนื่องจากมีภูมิประเทศตั้งอยู่บนวงแหวนแห่งไฟ และเหตุแผ่นดินไหวก่อนหน้านี้เกิดขึ้นเมื่อเดือนต.ค.2563 หลังแรงสั่นสะเทือนขนาด 7.6 แม็กนิจูด เขย่านอกชายฝั่งเมืองแซนด์พอยต์ ราว 3 เดือนหลังเกิดแผ่นดินไหว 7.8 แม็กนิจูดในคาบสมุทรอะแลสกา
An earthquake of magnitude 8.2 has struck the Alaska Peninsula, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said late on Wednesday. The quake was at a depth of 46.7 km, USGS added. In 2020, Alaska has 3 largest earthquakes including The October 2020 Simeonof or Shumagin earthquake had a magnitude 7.6 earthquake and struck 97 km south southeast from the city of Sand Point. /Twitter/USGS/
A powerful 8.2 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Alaska, triggering a tsunami warning. The quake struck 91km east-southeast of Perrville, Alaska, according to the United States Geological Survey. An emergency alert sent to people’s phones read: ‘The National Weather Service has issued a TSUNAMI WARNING. A series of powerful waves and strong currents may impact coasts near you. You are in danger. Get away from coastal waters. Move to high ground or inland now. Keep away from the coast until local officials say it is safe to return.’ /USGS/
