อียิปต์พบ “แหล่งน้ำมัน” – วันที่ 17 ก.พ. ซินหัว รายงานว่า กระทรวงทรัพยากรปิโตรเลียมและแร่ธาตุอียิปต์เปิดเผยเมื่อวันอังคารที่ 15 ก.พ. ว่า ดรากอน ออยล์ (Dragon Oil) ซึ่งมีฐานอยู่ในดูไบ ได้ค้นพบแหล่งสำรองน้ำมันใน อ่าวสุเอซ
กระทรวงทรัพยากรปิโตรเลียมและแร่ธาตุระบุว่าปริมาณสำรองคาดการณ์ของบ่อน้ำมันดังกล่าวในพื้นที่รอมาฎอนทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนืออาจสูงราว 100 ล้านบาร์เรล ซึ่งนับเป็นหนึ่งในแหล่งน้ำมันขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดเท่าที่พบในพื้นที่ในรอบ 20 ปี
ทั้งนี้ ดรากอน ออยล์ ก่อตั้งในไอร์แลนด์เมื่อปี 2514 โดยเอมิเรตส์ เนชันแนล ออยล์ คอมพานี (ENOC) บริษัทของรัฐบาลดูไบ เข้าถือหุ้นควบคุมของดรากอน ออยล์ ในปี 2542 และย้ายสำนักงานใหญ่ไปยังดูไบ
Dubai-based Dragon Oil has discovered an oil reserve in the Gulf of Suez, Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said. “The estimated reserve of the oil field, located in the northeastern Ramadan area, could be around 100 million barrels,” the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, Xinhua news agency reported. Dragon Oil was founded in 1971 in Ireland. The Emirates National Oil Company, a wholly owned company of the Government of Dubai, bought a controlling share in Dragon Oil in 1999 when its headquarters were relocated to Dubai. /arabnews/
