รัฐมนตรีศรีลังกา “ลาออก” – วันที่ 4 เม.ย. บีบีซี รายงานความคืบหน้าสถานการณ์ความไม่สงบใน ประเทศศรีลังกา หลังประสบปัญหาเศรษฐกิจรุนแรงจนนำไปสู่การตัดไฟฟ้าวันละ 13 ชั่วโมง และก่อให้เกิดประท้วงดุเดือดในช่วงสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมาว่า

รัฐมนตรีทั้งหมด 26 คนยื่นเอกสารขอลาออกจากตำแหน่ง ยกเว้นนายมหินทะ ราชปักษา นายกรัฐมนตรี และพี่ชายของประธานาธิบดีโกตาบายา ราชปักษา

นายดิเนศ กุนาวาร์ดีนา รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงศึกษาธิการศรีลังกา เปิดเผยกับสื่อมวลชนว่า คณะรัฐมนตรีส่งจดหมายขอลาออกต่อนายกรัฐมนตรีระหว่างการประชุมเมื่อค่ำวันอาทิตย์ที่ 3 เม.ย.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น

ด้าน นายนามัล ราชปักษา รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงเยาวชนและการกีฬา บุตรชายของนายมหินทะ ซึ่งยื่นขอลาออกด้วยเช่นกัน โพสต์ข้อความผ่านทวิตเตอร์หวังว่าการลาออกของคณะรัฐมนตรีจะช่วยให้ประธานาธิบดีและนายกรัฐมนตรีตัดสินใจสร้างความมั่นคงให้กับประชาชนและรัฐบาล

คาดว่าประธานาธิบดีโกตาบายาจะแต่งตั้งคณะรัฐมนตรีชุดใหม่เพื่อเร่งแก้ปัญหา โดยบางคนอาจได้รับเลือกให้กับมาดำรงตำแหน่ง

ความเคลื่อนไหวดังกล่าวเกิดขึ้นในช่วงที่ประธานาธิบดีโกตาบายาประกาศสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉินและบังคับใช้มาตรการเคอร์ฟิวต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่วันศุกร์ที่ 1 เม.ย. หนึ่งวันหลังประชาชนจำนวนมากรวมตัวประท้วงด้านนอกทำเนียบพักประธานาธิบดีในกรุงโคลัมโบ ขณะเดียวกันในเมืองกัณฏิ จังหวัดกลาง เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจยิงแก๊สน้ำตาสลายกลุ่มผู้ชุมนุมขับไล่รัฐบาล
