บังกลาเทศส่งทัพช่วย 4 ล้านคนอ่วม “น้ำท่วมซ้ำ” สลดฟ้าผ่าดับกว่า 20 ราย
บังกลาเทศส่งทัพช่วย – บีบีซี เอเอฟพี และ วีโอเอนิวส์ รายงานวันที่ 18 มิ.ย. ถึงสถานการณ์ภัยพิบัติใน บังกลาเทศ ว่า กองทัพเร่งส่งกำลังทหารเข้าช่วยเหลือประชาชนมากกว่า 4 ล้านคนในพื้นที่ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ครอบคลุมเมืองสิเลฏ
ภายหลังฝนตกหนักต่อเนื่องจนบ้านเรือนจำนวนมากจมอยู่ใต้น้ำท่วมสูง ประชาชนต้องอพยพขึ้นไปอยู่บนหลังคาและบางส่วนใช้เรือเป็นที่พักพิงชั่วคราว
เบื้องต้นเจ้าหน้าที่ยืนยันพบผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 25 ราย ในจำนวนนี้ 21 รายเสียชีวิตเพราะถูกฟ้าผ่าตั้งแต่ช่วงบ่ายวันศุกร์ที่ 17 มิ.ย. โดยสามรายเป็นเด็กอายุระหว่าง 12-14 ปี โดนฟ้าผ่าในพื้นที่ชนบทของเมืองนันเดล
ก่อนหน้านี้บังกลาเทศเพิ่งเผชิญหน้ากับอุทกภัยรุนแรงในรอบเกือบ 20 ปีเมื่อปลายเดือนพ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต 10 ราย และราว 4 ล้านคนได้รับผลกระทบ
ด้านศูนย์อุตุนิยมวิทยาท้องถิ่นแถลงเตือนว่าจะมีพายุฝนพัดถล่มอีกระลอกและอาจซ้ำเติมให้สถานการณ์น้ำท่วมยิ่งสาหัส ขณะที่ผู้เชี่ยวชาญระบุว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศทำให้อากาศแปรปรวนเกิดถี่ขึ้นและรุนแรงขึ้น
