อิหร่านเปิดตัว “ชาฮับ” – ซินหัว รายงานจากสถานีโทรทัศน์ทางการอิหร่านว่า กองทัพอากาศอิหร่านเผยโฉม อากาศยานไร้คนขับ (ยูเอวี-UAV) หรือ โดรน ที่พัฒนาเองในประเทศ ซึ่งถูกออกแบบและผลิตสำหรับการฝึกซ้อมโดยเฉพาะ
รายงานระบุว่าโดรนรุ่น “ชาฮับ” (Shahab) ซึ่งมีความหมายว่าสะเก็ดดาว ถูกนำมาแสดงในกรุงเตหะราน โดยมีคณะเจ้าหน้าที่กองทัพและเจ้าหน้าที่พลเรือนระดับสูงของอิหร่านเป็นสักขีพยาน
ทั้งนี้ โดรนชาฮับเป็นโดรนขั้นสูงรุ่นปรับปรุงของ โดรนซาฟีร์ (Safir) มีรัศมีการบินสำหรับฝึกซ้อมอยู่ที่ 10 กิโลเมตร และสามารถบินไต่ระดับได้ถึง 200 กิโลเมตรระหว่างภารกิจลาดตระเวน สามารถปฏิบัติภารกิจสังเกตการณ์และลาดตระเวนภายใต้สภาพแวดล้อมหลากหลายที่ ระดับสูงสุดราว 3.35 กิโลเมตร และมีระยะเวลาการบิน 8 ชั่วโมง
