เอกวาดอร์ยึด “โคเคนซุกกล้วย” – วันที่ 27 ก.พ. เอเอฟพี รายงานว่า ตำรวจเอกวาดอร์ ประเทศในทวีปอเมริกาใต้ แถลงว่านำกำลังเข้าตรวจสอบตู้คอนเทนเนอร์บรรทุกกล้วยและพบ โคเคน ซุกซ่อนอยู่ในลังใส่กล้วย รวมน้ำหนัก 8.8 ตัน มูลค่าราว 330 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือกว่า 11,500 ล้านบาท
พล.ต.อ.เฟาส์โต ซาลินาส ผู้บัญชาการตำรวจ ระบุผ่านบัญชีทวิตเตอร์ว่าตู้บรรทุกกล้วยส่งมาจากท่าเรือเมืองกัวยากิล ทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ และเตรียมส่งออกไปจำหน่ายในเบลเยียม รวมถึงยุโรป “การยึดครั้งประวัติศาสตร์ในปีนี้เป็นโคเคนน้ำหนักมากกว่า 8 ตัน เรายับยั้ง (การจำหน่ายระหว่างประเทศของ) โคเคน 90 ล้านโดส มูลค่า 330 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐในยุโรป”

รายงานระบุอีกว่าด้วยภูมิประเทศที่ตั้งอยู่ระหว่างโคลอมเบียและเปรู ผู้ผลิตโคเคนรายใหญ่ของโลก ส่งผลให้เอกวาดอร์กลายเป็นพื้นที่ขนส่งโคเคน อย่างไรก็ตาม ทางการเอกวาดอร์มีความจริงจังในการปราบปรามยาเสพติดอย่างมาก
