เรือนำเที่ยว “อับปาง” – วันที่ 8 พ.ค. เอเอฟพี และ บีบีซี รายงานว่า เกิดเหตุเรือนำเที่ยวสองชั้นอับปางในทะเลลักษทวีป นอกชายฝั่งเมืองทานูร์ รัฐเกรละ ทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของ ประเทศอินเดีย เมื่อเย็นวันอาทิตย์ที่ 7 พ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 22 ราย
ขณะที่นายวี อับดูราฮิมาน รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงกีฬาและการประมงรัฐเกรละ แถลงว่าประสานงานส่งหน่วยกู้ภัยเร่งค้นหาผู้โดยสารซึ่งคาดว่ามีมากกว่า 50 คน และว่าส่วนใหญ่เป็นเด็กเนื่องจากอยู่ในช่วงวันหยุดโรงเรียน
เบื้องต้นเจ้าหน้าที่พบผู้รอดชีวิตจำนวนหนึ่ง แต่มี 4 คนอาการสาหัสและถูกนำตัวส่งโรงพยาบาลแล้ว ส่วนสาเหตุตำรวจกำลังเร่งสอบสวน แต่สันนิษฐานว่าอาจมาจากการบรรทุกผู้โดยสารเกินขนาด
