ยายวัย 95 “เหยื่อปืนชอร์ตไฟฟ้า” – บีบีซี รายงานวันที่ 25 พ.ค. ถึงความคืบหน้าเหตุสะเทือนใจใน ประเทศออสเตรเลีย กรณีตำรวจใช้ปืนชอร์ตไฟฟ้ายิง นางแคลร์ นาวแลนด์ วัย 95 ปีจนบาดเจ็บสาหัส เมื่อวันที่ 17 พ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา
หลังจากบ้านพักคนชรายัลแลมบีลอดจ์ในเมืองคูมา รัฐนิวเซาท์เวลส์ แจ้งเหตุฉุกเฉินว่านางนาวแลนด์ซึ่งมีภาวะสมองเสื่อมเดินถือมีดสเต๊กอยู่ในห้องพัก และเกรงว่าจะเป็นอันตรายต่อตัวนางนาวแลนด์ รวมถึงผู้สูงวัยคนอื่นๆ
อย่างไรก็ตาม นางนาวแลนด์เสียชีวิตภายหลังเข้ารับการรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลนาน 1 สัปดาห์ จุดชนวนให้สังคมออกมาเรียกร้องความยุติธรรมแก่ครอบครัวของนางนาวแลนด์
ส่วนตำรวจที่ใช้ปืนชอร์ตไฟฟ้านางนาวแลนด์ถูกตั้งข้อหาปฏิบัติงานด้วยความประมาทจนเป็นเหตุให้ผู้อื่นเสียชีวิต และมีกำหนดขึ้นศาลเพื่อรับทราบข้อหาในเดือนก.ค.นี้

The officer who Tasered Mrs Nowland has been charged with assault. The 33-year-old senior constable will face court in early July on charges of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm and common assault. (ABC News)

Police said she was “armed” with a steak knife, they confirmed that she required a walking frame to move and the officer discharged his Taser after she began approaching at a slow pace. /NSW Police/
