ญี่ปุ่นตั้งรับ “ไต้ฝุ่นมาวาร์” – เอเอฟพี รายงานวันที่ 2 มิ.ย. ว่า ญี่ปุ่นเตรียมรับมือกับฝนตกหนักหลังจาก พายุไต้ฝุ่น “มาวาร์” ที่ความเร็วลมสูงสุดไม่เกิน 90 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง เคลื่อนตัวจากเกาะกวมและมุ่งหน้าสู่ เกาะฮอนชู อิทธิพลของพายุอาจก่อให้เกิดฝนกระหน่ำ ลมแรง และน้ำท่วมฉับพลัน
ขณะเดียวกันกรมอุตุนิยมวิทยาญี่ปุ่น (เจเอ็มเอ) แถลงว่าญี่ปุ่นเผชิญหน้ากับฤดูใบไม้ผลิที่อบอุ่นที่สุดเป็นประวัติการณ์ในช่วงที่ทั่วโลกประสบปัญหาอุณหภูมิสูงขึ้นจากปัจจัยของก๊าซเรือนกระจกและปรากฏการณ์เอลนีโญ

โดยระหว่างเดือนมี.ค. ถึงเดือนพ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ญี่ปุ่นมีอุณหภูมิสูงกว่าอุณหภูมิเฉลี่ยในช่วงเดียวกันตลอดระยะเวลา 30 ปีที่ผ่านมาที่ 1.59 องศาเซลเซียส และถือเป็นช่องว่างอุณหภูมิที่ห่างที่สุดนับตั้งแต่กรมอุตุนิยมวิทยาญี่ปุ่นเริ่มเปรียบเทียบข้อมูลเมื่อปี 2441 หรือ 125 ปีก่อน
ส่วนอุณหภูมิผิวน้ำทะเลเฉลี่ยของน่านน้ำทั่วญี่ปุ่นในฤดูใบไม้ผลิปีนี้สูงเป็นอันดับ 3 นับตั้งแต่เริ่มเปรียบเทียบข้อมูลเมื่อปี 2525
