เวียดนามผวา! – ซินหัว รายงานกระแสวิตกกังวลใน ประเทศเวียดนาม หลังพบว่ามีเด็กๆ ในภูมิภาคตอนใต้ ติดเชื้อ “โรคมือเท้าปาก” เพิ่มขึ้น โดยปีนี้มีผู้เสียชีวิตจากโรคดังกล่าวแล้วอย่างน้อย 7 ราย และมีผู้ป่วยอาการรุนแรงเพิ่มขึ้นด้วย
สถาบันปาสเตอร์ในนครโฮจิมินห์ซิตีเผยว่า 20 เมืองและจังหวัดในภูมิภาคตอนใต้ของเวียดนาม มีผู้ติดเชื้อโรคมือเท้าปากเฉพาะในปีนี้ราว 11,000 ราย ส่วนใหญ่ติด “ไวรัสเอนเทอโรไวรัส 71” (EV71) ที่อาจนำสู่โรคแทรกซ้อนรุนแรงและการเสียชีวิต

รายงานระบุอีกว่านครโฮจิมินห์ซิตี รวมถึงกลุ่มจังหวัดบิ่นห์เยือง อานซาง และเกียนซาง พบผู้ติดเชื้อโรคมือเท้าปากละผู้ป่วยอาการรุนแรงเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมากในช่วง 2-3 สัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา
ด้านสำนักอนามัยของนครโฮจิมินห์ซิตีเผยว่าแม้จำนวนผู้ติดเชื้อโรคมือเท้าปากในเมืองลดลงร้อยละ 53 เมื่อเทียบปีต่อปี แต่จำนวนผู้ป่วยอาการรุนแรงกลับเพิ่มขึ้น
นอกจากนี้โรงพยาบาลท้องถิ่นในพื้นที่ตอนใต้ของเวียดนามเผชิญปัญหาขาดแคลนเวชภัณฑ์เพราะจำนวนผู้ป่วยโรคมือเท้าปากเพิ่มขึ้น โดยโรงพยาบาลเด็กหลายแห่งขาดแคลนยารักษาผู้ป่วยอาการรุนแรงอย่าง “แกมมาโกลบูลิน” (gamma globulin) และ “ฟีโนบาร์บิทัล” (phenobarbital)

Twenty cities and provinces in the region have so far this year recorded around 11,000 cases, mostly caused by the Enterovirus 71 (EV71) virus, which can lead to severe complications and death, the newspaper cited the Institut Pasteur in HCM City.
