เพดานโรงยิมในโรงเรียน – ซินหัว และ ซีจีทีเอ็น รายงานวันที่ 24 ก.ค. ถึงความคืบหน้าเหตุหลังคาโรงยิมพังถล่มที่โรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาหมายเลข 34 ในเมืองฉีฉีฮาร์ มณฑลเฮย์หลงเจียง ทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของ ประเทศจีน เมื่อช่วงบ่ายวันที่ 23 ก.ค. ว่า พบผู้เสียชีวิตเพิ่มเป็นอย่างน้อย 11 ราย
ด้านหน่วยกู้ภัยระบุว่าเจ้าหน้าดับเพลิงเกือบ 160 นาย พร้อมด้วยรถดับเพลิง 39 คันรุดช่วยเหลือและนำตัวผู้รอดชีวิต 15 คนออกมาจากใต้ซากปรักหักพังได้ แต่ในจำนวนนี้ 5 รายไม่มีสัญญาณชีพ อีก 6 รายได้รับบาดเจ็บสาหัสและเสียชีวิตในเวลาต่อมา
