รถบรรทุกผู้อพยพ – รอยเตอร์ รายงานวันที่ 2 ต.ค. ถึงความคืบหน้าเหตุรถบรรทุกผู้อพยพแล่นไถลออกข้างทางก่อนพลิกตะแคงในรัฐเชียปัส ทางใต้สุดของ ประเทศเม็กซิโก เมื่อวันอาทิตย์ที่ 1 ต.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 10 ราย และอีก 25 คนได้รับบาดเจ็บ

ด้านสถาบันการย้ายถิ่นฐานแห่งชาติเปิดเผยว่ารถบรรทุกสินค้าซึ่งไม่มีป้ายทะเบียนขนย้ายผู้อพยพข้ามชายแดนจากกัวเตมาลาเข้ามายังเม็กซิโกและกำลังมุ่งหน้าขึ้นเหนือไปยังสหรัฐอเมริกา
จากการสอบสวนเบื้องต้นพบว่าคนขับรถขับด้วยความเร็วสูงจนสูญเสียการควบคุมรถและก่อให้เกิดอุบัติเหตุ หนำซ้ำคนขับยังหลบหนีทันทีและทิ้งผู้อพยพให้เผชิญชะตากรรมกันเอง โดยเจ้าหน้าที่จะเร่งตามล่าจับกุมตัวมาดำเนินคดี
