ขณะเดียวกันกองทัพเกาหลีใต้เผยแพร่ภาพถ่ายที่แสดงให้เห็นทหารเกาหลีเหนือ 4 นายกำลังสร้างป้อมตรวจไม้หลังใหม่ในเขตปลอดทหาร

ทั้งนี้ เกาหลีใต้ประจำการอุปกรณ์สอดแนมและลาดตระเวนบริเวณชายแดนหลังเกาหลีเหนือปล่อยดาวเทียมมัลลิกยอง-1 โดยย้ำว่าเป็นมาตรการที่จำเป็นเพื่อป้องกันภัยคุกคามที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น
