รัฐมนตรีคมนาคมสิงคโปร์ – วันที่ 18 ม.ค. รอยเตอร์ รายงานว่า นายสุภรามาเนียม อิสวาราน หรือ นายเอส. อิสวาราน รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงคมนาคมสิงคโปร์ ยื่นหนังสือลาออกหลังได้รับจดหมายตั้งข้อหาอย่างเป็นทางการมากถึง 27 กระทง รวมถึงข้อหาทุจริตและขัดขวางกระบวนการยุติธรรม

ถือเป็นกรณีที่เกิดขึ้นได้ยากที่เจ้าหน้าที่รัฐบาลระดับสูงของสิงคโปร์จะถูกดำเนินคดีคอร์รัปชั่น เนื่องจากสิงคโปร์เป็นหนึ่งในประเทศอันดับต้นๆ ที่มีการทุจริตน้อยที่สุดในโลก
รายงานระบุด้วยว่าความเคลื่อนไหวดังกล่าวเกิดขึ้นภายหลังสำนักงานต่อต้านการทุจริตแห่งชาติเริ่มสอบสวนนายอิสวารานซึ่งถูกจับกุมเมื่อเดือนก.ค.2566 และส่งผลให้นายกรัฐมนตรีลี เซียนลุง ออกคำสั่งพักงานนายอิสวารานและห้ามไม่ให้เดินทางออกนอกประเทศ
