สหรัฐฉลุยงบฯ – วันที่ 21 เม.ย. บีบีซี และ รอยเตอร์ รายงานว่า สภาผู้แทนราษฎรสหรัฐอเมริกาลงมติที่คะแนน 311 เสียงต่อ 112 เสียง เห็นชอบให้ผ่านงบประมาณช่วยเหลือทางการทหารครั้งใหม่มูลค่า 95,000 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือเกือบ 3.5 ล้านล้านบาท แก่ยูเครนและชาติพันธมิตร
หลังล่าช้ามานานท่ามกลางสถานการณ์ความขัดแย้งที่ตึงเครียดต่อเนื่อง ทั้งสงครามรัสเซียรุกรานยูเครน สงครามระหว่างอิสราเอลกับฮามาส และความยายามรวมไต้หวันเข้าเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกับจีนแผ่นดินใหญ่

ประธานาธิบดีโจ ไบเดน ผู้นำสหรัฐ กล่าวหลังสภาผ่านมติว่าเป็นการส่งสารที่ชัดเจนของสหรัฐ ขณะที่ ประธานาธิบดีโวโลดีมีร์ เซเลนสกี ผู้นำยูเครน กล่าวว่าประชาธิปไตยและเสรีภาพจะมีความสำคัญในระดับโลกเสมอ
และว่าจะไม่มีวันล้มเหลวตราบใดที่สหรัฐช่วยปกป้องสิ่งนี้ พร้อมย้ำว่าความช่วยเหลือดังกล่าวจะป้องกันไม่ให้สงครามขยายวงกว้างและช่วยชีวิตผู้คนได้หลายพันคน

ด้านนายดมิทรี เปสคอฟ โฆษกทำเนียบประธานาธิบดีรัสเซีย ตอบโต้ว่าเงินช่วยเหลือจะทำให้สหรัฐร่ำรวยขึ้นในขณะที่ยูเครนถูกทำลายต่อไป
ทั้งนี้ งบประมาณราว 2.24 ล้านล้านบาทจะนำไปช่วยเหลือยูเครน รวมถึงอาวุธยุทโธปกรณ์มูลค่า 846,000 ล้านบาท
นอกจากนี้ยังมีงบประมาณราว 971,000 ล้านบาทเพื่อสนับสนุนอิสราเอล ในจำนวนนี้ 335,000 ล้านบาทเป็นเงินช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมแก่กาซ่า และอีก 298,000 ล้านบาทจะช่วยเหลือชาติพันธมิตรในเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก รวมถึงไต้หวัน
