10 ศพสังเวย – เอเอฟพี รายงานวันที่ 23 เม.ย. ว่า เกิดเหตุเฮลิคอปเตอร์ของกองทัพมาเลเซีย 2 ลำชนกันและตกระหว่างการฝึกซ้อมบริเวณฐานทัพเรือลูมัตในเมืองลูมัต รัฐเประ ส่งผลให้ลูกเรือทั้งหมด 10 รายเสียชีวิต
นายซูฮามี โมฮัมหมัด ซูฮาอิล ผู้อำนวยการอาวุโสจากหน่วยดับเพลิงและกู้ภัยท้องถิ่น เปิดเผยว่า
“เฮลิคอปเตอร์สองลำประสบเหตุชนกันระหว่างฝึกบิน และเหยื่อทั้งสิบรายได้รับการยืนยันจากเจ้าหน้าที่ทางการแพทย์แล้วว่าเสียชีวิต”
ขณะเดียวกันคลิปวิดีโอที่โพสต์ผ่านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์เผยให้เห็นเฮลิคอปเตอร์หลายลำบินต่ำเป็นขบวนเหนือสนามกีฬากองทัพเรือลูมัต เป็นการฝึกซ้อมก่อนแสดงจริงในวันครบรอบ 90 ปีกองทัพเรือมาเลเซียซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นในเดือนพฤษภาคมที่จะถึงนี้
