ประธานาธิบดีมาครง “ยุบสภา” – บีบีซี รายงานวันที่ 10 มิ.ย. ว่า ประธานาธิบดีเอ็มมานูเอล มาครง ผู้นำฝรั่งเศส ประกาศยุบสภาเมื่อวันอาทิตย์ที่ 9 มิ.ย.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น หลังจากผลสำรวจความคิดเห็นเอ็กซิตโพลในการเลือกตั้งสภายุโรปซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 6-9 มิ.ย.ที่ผ่านมาระบุว่า
พรรคเนชันแนลแรลลี ฝ่ายขวาจัด ที่นำโดยนางมารีน เลอ แปน และนายจอร์แดน บาร์เดลลา มีคะแนนกว่าร้อยละ 30 มากเป็น 2 เท่าของคะแนนที่พรรคเรอแนซ็องส์ ฝ่ายกลาง ของนายมาครงทำได้

“ผมตัดสินใจมอบทางเลือกอนาคตรัฐสภาของเราด้วยการลงคะแนนเสียง ดังนั้นผมจึงขอยุบสภานิติบัญญัติแห่งชาติ” นายมาครงกล่าว
ทั้งนี้ เอ็กซิตโพลการเลือกตั้งสภายุโรปยังแสดงให้เห็นว่าฝ่ายขวาจัดได้รับคะแนนเสียงเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมากในประเทศสมาชิกสหภาพยุโรป (อียู) รวมถึงเยอรมนี ออสเตรีย สเปน และฮังการี
