หลังไฟป่า “พาร์กไฟร์” ซึ่งเริ่มปะทุเมื่อวันที่ 24 ก.ค. ใกล้เมืองชิโกในเขตบัตต์ ทางตอนเหนือของรัฐ ยังลุกลามต่อเนื่องและเผาวอดพื้นที่เพิ่มเป็นกว่า 370,000 เอเคอร์ หรือ 935,835 ไร่
ขณะเดียวกันเจ้าหน้าที่ดับเพลิงเกือบ 4,900 นาย พร้อมด้วยรถดับเพลิง 400 คัน เฮลิคอปเตอร์ 33 ลำและเครื่องบินจำนวนมากเร่งดับไฟอย่างเต็มกำลัง และแม้อุณหภูมิจะลดลงช่วงสุดสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา แต่สถานการณ์ยังไม่ดีนักและเจ้าหน้าที่สามารถควบคุมไฟป่าได้เพียงร้อยละ 12 เท่านั้น
