ชาวประมงมาเลย์โชคร้าย – A fisherman has been mauled to death by a crocodile as he set up his nets on the banks of a river. Ridwan Nawir was seen being dragged into the river at around 11.15am local time on Monday, according to eyewitnesses. They say his body was seen floating in the river in Kunak, in Sabah State, Malaysia, before it was dragged under the surface by the large killer croc. (Image: Jam Press)

Fire brigade chief Mohammad Omarbatha said: “After the missing person was attacked, the crocodile was spotted by witnesses. It held the missing person in its mouth and floated on the surface for a long time before it slowly dived to the bottom of the river and escaped.” The authorities sent six firefighters to recover the fisherman’s body, but had to suspend the search operation when darkness fell. ชาวประมงมาเลย์โชคร้าย – His body was eventually recovered shortly after 9.30am. It was found about 2,000 feet from where the 50-year-old fisherman was last seen. The fire chief said not all of the man’s body were recovered. Part of his torso, leg and head were missing.
