ไอซ์แลนด์ระทึกอีก! – วันที่ 21 พ.ย. เอเอฟพี รายงานว่า สำนักงานอุตุนิยมวิทยาแห่งชาติของไอซ์แลนด์ (ไอเอ็มโอ) แถลงว่า ภูเขาไฟบนคาบสมุทรเรคยาเนส ทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของ ประเทศไอซ์แลนด์ ปะทุพ่นลาวาร้อนระอุอีกครั้งเมื่อเวลา 23.14 น. ของวันพุธที่ 20 พ.ย.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น และถือเป็นการระเบิดครั้งที่ 7 นับตั้งแต่เดือนธ.ค.2566
การระเบิดครั้งล่าสุดเกิดขึ้นที่ “รอยแยกแนวปล่องภูเขาไฟซุนด์ฮนูคากีการ์” นอกเมืองกรินดาวิก นายเบเนดิกต์ โอเฟกสัน เจ้าหน้าที่สำนักงานอุตุนิยมวิทยาไอซ์แลนด์ ระบุว่ายังไม่มีรายงานผลกระทบต่อโครงสร้างพื้นฐานสาธารณะ แต่ทางการสั่งอพยพประชาชนในเมืองกรินดาวิก
ทั้งนี้ ไอซ์แลนด์มีภูเขาไฟที่ยังคุกรุ่นมากถึง 33 ลูก และคาบสมุทรเรคยาเนสเผชิญหน้ากับแผ่นดินไหวที่เกิดขึ้นบ่อยครั้งและต่อเนื่องในช่วงหลายปีที่ผ่านมา
