ฝนถล่มมาเลเซีย! – รอยเตอร์ รายงานวันที่ 29 พ.ย. ถึงสถานการณ์ภัยพิบัติใน มาเลเซีย หลังฝนตกหนักต่อเนื่องในช่วงไม่กี่วันที่ผ่านมา ส่งผลให้เกิดน้ำท่วมสูงในพื้นที่หลายรัฐ เบื้องต้นพบผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 3 ราย และประชาชนเกือบ 80,600 คนต้องอพยพไปยังศูนย์พักพิงชั่วคราว 467 แห่งใน 7 รัฐ
โดยรัฐได้รับผลกระทบมากที่สุดคือรัฐตรังกานูและรัฐกลันตันซึ่งอยู่ทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือติดกับชายแดนประเทศไทย พร้อมเตือนว่าพายุฤดูมรสุมครั้งนี้อาจก่อให้เกิดน้ำท่วมใหญ่ที่สุดของประเทศในรอบทศวรรษ
ฝนถล่มมาเลเซีย! – Three people have died and more than 80,000 have been evacuated from floods across several Malaysian states, the government said on Nov 29 as officials warned the monsoon season could bring the country’s worst flooding in a decade. Floods are common on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia during the monsoon period, mostly in the northeastern state of Kelantan that borders Thailand. /BERNAMA/
ขณะเดียวกัน บริษัท เคทีเอ็ม เบอร์ฮัด ผู้ให้บริการรถไฟแห่งชาติ โพสต์ผ่านเฟซบุ๊กเมื่อวันพุธที่ 28 พ.ย. ว่าระงับให้บริการรถไฟ 9 เส้นทางบนชายฝั่งตะวันออกเนื่องจากน้ำท่วม ส่วนกรมอุตุนิยมวิทยามาเลเซียแถลงว่าจะมีฝนตกหนักในหลายรัฐไปจนถึงต้นเดือนธ.ค.
ด้าน นายอาหมัด ซาฮิด ฮามิดิ รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและประธานคณะกรรมการจัดการภัยพิบัติแห่งชาติของมาเลเซีย ระบุคาดว่าอุทกภัยครั้งนี้จะรุนแรงกว่าเหตุการณ์เมื่อปี 2557 ที่ทำให้ประชาชนเกือบ 250,000 คนต้องอพยพ
แต่ย้ำว่าทุกฝ่ายจะทำหน้าที่ดูแลความปลอดภัยและสวัสดิการของประชาชน โดยรัฐบาลส่งเจ้าหน้าที่ความมั่นคงกว่า 82,000 นาย รวมถึงเรือกู้ภัย รถขับเคลื่อนสี่ล้อ และเฮลิคอปเตอร์ไปประจำการในพื้นที่เสี่ยงภัยแล้ว

ฝนถล่มมาเลเซีย! – Deputy Prime Minister and National Disaster Management Committee chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said on Nov 28 that the floods were expected to be more severe than in 2014, when nearly a quarter of a million people were forced from their homes. “Given the severity of the situation, all parties have been mobilised to ensure the safety and welfare of flood victims,” he was quoted as saying by state news agency Bernama. /Facebook/Mohd Nassuruddin Haji Daud/
