วานูอาตู “แผ่นดินไหวซ้ำ” – วันที่ 22 ธ.ค. เอเอฟพี รายงานว่า เมื่อเวลา 02.30 น. ตามเวลาท้องถิ่นของ วานูวาตู เกิด แผ่นดินไหว 6.1 แม็กนิจูด มีจุดศูนย์กลางห่างจากกรุงพอร์ตวิลา ราว 30 กิโลเมตร อยู่ลึกลงไปเกือบ 40 กิโลเมตร และไม่มีประกาศเตือนภัยคุกคามจากสึนามิ

โดยแผ่นดินไหวครั้งก่อนก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายอย่างหนัก อาคารบ้านเรือนพังยับหลายหลัง ดินถล่มเป็นบริเวณกว้าง ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต 12 ราย ได้รับบาดเจ็บกว่า 210 ราย และประชาชนเกือบ 1,700 รายต้องอพยพพลัดถิ่นชั่วคราว
