และอาจเป็นจุดเปลี่ยนต่ออนาคตทางการเมืองของนางซารา ดูแตร์เต รองประธานาธิบดี และลูกสาวของอดีตประธานาธิบดีโรดริโก ดูแตร์เต ซึ่งถูกกล่าวหาว่าข่มขู่จะลอบสังหารนายมาร์กอส จูเนียร์ แม้ต่อมาถูกถอดถอนในเดือนก.พ.2568 แต่ยังดำรงตำแหน่งต่อไประหว่างรอคำตัดสินขั้นสุดท้ายจากวุฒิสภา
ขณะเดียวกันนายดูแตร์เตในวัย 80 ปี ซึ่งถูกควบคุมตัวภายใต้หมายจับของศาลอาญาระหว่างประเทศ (ไอซีซี) กรุงเฮก ประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ ตั้งแต่เดือนมี.ค. ในข้อหากระทำอาชญากรรมต่อมนุษยชาติจากการทำสงครามยาเสพติดซึ่งมีผู้เสียชีวิตหลายพันคน ได้รับเลือกให้เป็นนายกเทศมนตรีเมืองดาเวา ฐานเสียงสำคัญของครอบครัว
