กัวเตมาลาเร่งอพยพ – รอยเตอร์ รายงานวันที่ 7 มิ.ย. ว่า สำนักงานบรรเทาสาธารณภัยของ กัวเตมาลา ประเทศในภูมิภาคอเมริกากลาง เร่งอพยพประชาชนกว่า 700 คนในชุมชนใกล้เคียง หลังจาก “ภูเขาไฟโบลกันเดฟูเอโก” หรือเรียกสั้นๆ ว่า “ฟูเอโก” ปะทุขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง
สำนักงานแผ่นดินไหวกัวเตมาลาระบุว่า ภูเขาไฟเดฟูเอโกซึ่งอยู่ห่างจากเมืองอันติกัว เมืองหลักของจังหวัดซากาเตเปเกซ ทางตอนใต้ราว 18 กิโลเมตร พ่นเถ้าถ่าน ควันดำทะมึน และลาวาที่สะสมอยู่รอบๆ ปล่องภูเขาไฟออกมา โดยทางการท้องถิ่นจะติดตามสถานการณ์อย่างใกล้ชิดเพื่อรับมือกับเหตุการณ์ฉุกเฉินที่อาจเกิดขึ้น
ภูเขาไฟฟูเอโกเป็นภูเขาไฟที่ยังคุกรุ่นในระดับต่ำเกือบต่อเนื่อง และมีการปะทุของแก๊สและเถ้าถ่านเล็กๆ น้อยๆ บ่อยครั้ง ส่วนการปะทุครั้งใหญ่ครั้งล่าสุดก่อนหน้านี้เกิดขึ้นเมื่อเดือนมิ.ย.2561 เป็นการปะทุที่รุนแรงที่สุดในรอบ 4 ทศวรรษ และมีผู้เสียชีวิตมากกว่า 200 ราย
