ชายวัย 75 “สิ้นใจ” – วันที่ 3 ส.ค. เจแปนนิส์ และ สเตรตส์ไทมส์ รายงานว่า ชายนักปีนเขาอายุ 75 ปี เสียชีวิตระหว่างเดินขึ้น ภูเขาไฟฟูจิ และถือเป็นผู้เสียชีวิตรายแรกของฤดูกาลปีนเขานี้โดยเกิดขึ้นบนในพื้นที่ภูเขาไฟฟูจิฝั่งจังหวัดยามานาชิ ประเทศญี่ปุ่น

ตำรวจเปิดเผยว่าผู้ตายเป็นพนักงานบริษัทจากเมืองคิซูกาวะในจังหวัดเกียวโต เริ่มปีนเขาจากสถานีที่ 5 บนเส้นทางโยชิดะ เมื่อเวลาราว 16.40 น. ของวันที่ 1 ส.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น
โดยมีกลุ่มนักท่องเที่ยวผู้ร่วมทางจำนวนหนึ่งและทั้งหมดมุ่งหน้าไปยังที่พักบนภูเขาไฟฟูจิ อย่างไรก็ตาม เมื่อเวลา 18.30 น. ชายคนดังกล่าวหมดสติ
และต่อมาเกิดภาวะหัวใจหยุดเต้นขณะอยู่ในบริเวณสถานีที่ 7 ของเส้นทางโยชิดะ แม้จะเร่งนำตัวส่งโรงพยาบาลในเมืองฟูจิ-โยชิดะ แต่ไม่ทันการและเสียชีวิตในที่สุด
