รายงานระบุว่าชายทั้ง 7 คนถูกตัดสินว่ามีความผิดเมื่อเดือนมิถุนายนที่ผ่านมา หลังพิจารณาคดีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความผิดมากถึง 50 กระทง รวมถึงคดีข่มขืน 30 กระทงซึ่งเกิดขึ้นระหว่างปี 2544-2549

เด็กหญิงทั้งสองคนเป็นที่รู้จักของหน่วยงานบริการสังคม และไม่ใช่ความลับว่าทั้งคู่มีเพศสัมพันธ์กับผู้ชายเอเชียใต้ที่มีอายุมากกว่า เช่น จำเลย ซึ่งเป็นสถานการณ์ที่คล้ายคลึงกับแก๊งกรูมมิ่งอื่นๆ อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้ต้องสงสัยปฏิเสธข้อกล่าวหา แต่คณะลูกขุนลงมติเป็นเอกฉันท์ว่ามีความผิดจริงและถูกตัดสินให้ต้องโทษจำคุกระหว่าง 12-35 ปีเมื่อวันพุธที่ 1 ต.ค.
