โดย ลิเวอร์พูล ทำผลงานได้อย่างยอดเยี่ยมหลังเอาชนะ เชลซี ทีมร่วมศึกพรีเมียร์ลีก 1-0 ในฟุตบอลคาราบาว คัพ ฤดูกาล 2023-24 เมื่อวันที่ 25 ก.พ. จากประตูชัยของ เฟอร์จิล ฟาน ไดก์ ที่โหม่งเข้าไปในนาที 118 ทั้งๆ ที่ในเกมนี้ “หงส์แดง” ต้องส่งผู้เล่นสำรองลงสนามหลายราย รวมถึงม้านั่งสำรองก็มีแต่บรรดาแข้งดาวรุ่งหลังนักเตะในทีมชุดใหญ่บาดเจ็บถึง 11 คน
จากผลที่เกิดขึ้นทำให้ “หงส์แดง” คว้าแชมป์รายการดังกล่าวไปครองเป็นสมัยที่ 10 ของสโมสรต่อจากฤดูกาล 1980-81, 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84, 1994-95, 2000-01, 2002-03, 2011-12, 2021-22
นอกจากนั้นแล้วยังเป็นการคว้า 1 จาก 4 แชมป์ของฤดูกาลสุดท้ายที่ ลิเวอร์พูล จะมี เจอร์เกน คล็อปป์ เป็นผู้จัดการทีมหลังเจ้าตัวจะอำลาสโมสรหลังจบซีซั่นนี้ ซึ่งอีก 3 รายการคือ พรีเมียร์ลีก อังกฤษ, เอฟเอ คัพ และยูฟ่า ยูโรปา ลีก
