ออสเตรเลียเตรียมทุ่มงบ – วันที่ 14 ก.พ. รอยเตอร์ รายงานว่า รัฐบาลออสเตรเลียประกาศว่าจะทุ่มงบประมาณ 3,900 ล้านดอลลาร์ออสเตรเลีย หรือกว่า 85,135 ล้านบาท
เพื่อเร่งการก่อสร้างอู่ต่อเรือซึ่งจะช่วยส่งมอบ เรือดำน้ำพลังงานนิวเคลียร์ ภายใต้ สนธิสัญญาพันธมิตรไตรภาคีด้านความมั่นคง (ออคัส) ร่วมกับสหรัฐอเมริกาและสหราชอาณาจักรในปี 2564
ออสเตรเลียเตรียมทุ่มงบ – Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the A$3.9 billion as a down payment to deliver the new shipyard in Osborne, a suburb of Adelaide in South Australia state. “Investing in the submarine construction yard at Osborne is critical to delivering Australia’s conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines,” Albanese said in a statement. Official projections put the total cost of the build at A$30 billion “over coming decades”, he said. REUTERS

“การลงทุนอู่ต่อเรือดำน้ำที่ออสบอร์นมีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการสร้างเรือดำน้ำติดอาวุธแบบดั้งเดิมและเรือดำน้ำพลังงานนิวเคลียร์ของออสเตรเลีย” นายอัลบาเนซีคาดการด้วยว่าต้นทุนรวมของการก่อสร้างจะอยู่ที่ 30,000 ล้านดอลลาร์ออสเตรเลีย (ประมาณ 654,887 ล้านบาท) ในช่วงหลายสิบปีข้างหน้า
