โดยสำนักงานไปรษณีย์ศรีลังกาได้เริ่มการสอบสวนภายในเช่นเดียวกับสำนักสืบสวนสอบสวนอาชญากรรมที่กำลังดำเนินการสอบสวนควบคู่กัน ความผิดปกติทางการเงินลักษณะนี้จะต้องผ่านการตรวจสอบในระดับหน่วยงานก่อนเจ้าหน้าที่บังคับใช้กฎหมายจะเข้ามาดำเนินการสอบสวนเมื่อมีการร้องเรียนอย่างเป็นทางการ
