ด้านประธานาธิบดีโมอิสแถลงข่าวที่รันเวย์ของสนามบินในกรุงปอร์โตแปรงซ์ ว่า “ผมขอขอบคุณหัวหน้าหน่วยรักษาความปลอดภัยประจำทำเนียบ จุดประสงค์ของคนเหล่านี้คือพยายามเอาชีวิตผม แต่แผนการนั้นถูกยกเลิก”
ขณะที่ นายกรัฐมนตรีโจเซฟ จูเธ กล่าวว่ากลุ่มคนร้ายติดต่อเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจประจำทำเนียบประธานาธิบดีซึ่งวางแผนจะจับกุมนายโมอิส จากนั้นช่วยเหลือการเปลี่ยนผ่านอำนาจประธานาธิบดี

Haitian authorities said Sunday they had foiled an attempt to murder President Jovenel Moise and overthrow the government, as a dispute rages over when his term ends.
