แคนาดาระทึก! – วันที่ 10 พ.ค. รอยเตอร์ รายงานเหตุยิงระทึกขวัญที่ท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติแวนคูเวอร์ รัฐบริติชโคลัมเบีย ประเทศแคนาดา พบผู้เสียชีวิตแล้วอย่างน้อย 1 ราย
ด้านตำรวจประสานงานกับฝ่ายรักษาความปลอดภัยของสนามบินหลังได้รับแจ้งเหตุนอกอาคารผู้โดยสารหลัก และเร่งตามล่าหาผู้ต้องสงสัยซึ่งอาจมากกว่า 1 คน ต่อมาทางสำนักงานตำรวจแคนาดาระบุผ่านทวิตเตอร์ว่าสามารถควบคุมสถานการณ์ได้แล้ว แต่ยังไม่เปิดเผยรายละเอียด ส่วนสนามบินกลับมาเปิดให้บริการเที่ยวบินตามปกติ
ทั้งนี้ เหตุดังกล่าวสร้างความตกใจให้กับประชาชนอย่างมาก เนื่องจากแคนาดาเป็นประเทศที่มีอัตราการเกิดอาชญากรรมต่ำ ทั้งยังรั้งอันดับ 6 ของประเทศที่มีความปลอดภัยในดัชนีสันติภาพโลกปี 2021 โดยสถาบันเศรษฐศาสตร์และสันติภาพ รองจากไอซ์แลนด์ นิวซีแลนด์ โปรตุเกส ออสเตรีย และเดนมาร์ก

A Royal Canadian Mounted Police later tweeted that the situation had been contained. “We can confirm the situation has been contained at YVR. The airport is open and safe. Flights are operating,” the airport said on Twitter. AP
