รถบรรทุกนมชน “รถน้ำมัน” – บีบีซี รายงานวันที่ 19 ก.ค.ถึงความคืบหน้าเหตุรถบรรทุกน้ำมันชนรถบรรทุกนมบนทางหลวงเชื่อมระหว่างเมืองคิซูมูและเมืองบูเซีย ทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของ ประเทศเคนยา เมื่อค่ำวันเสาร์ที่ 17 ก.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น จนรถน้ำมันพลิกคว่ำ
ชาวบ้านที่อาศัยอยู่ในละแวกใกล้เคียงเลยแห่ขโมยน้ำมันจากรถบรรทุก แต่ไฟเกิดปะทุและโหมไหม้รุนแรง เป็นเหตุให้เผาคลอกคร่าชีวิตชาวบ้านอย่างน้อย 13 ราย อีก 24 คน รวมถึงเด็กจำนวนมากได้รับบาดเจ็บ และถูกนำตัวส่งโรงพยาบาลแล้ว ด้านตำรวจกำลังเร่งสอบสวนหาสาเหตุ
ทั้งนี้ เคนยามีอุบัติเหตุบนท้องถนนเกิดขึ้นบ่อยครั้ง โดยเฉพาะเส้นทางที่มีรถบรรทุกใช้หนาแน่น ส่วนหนึ่งเป็นเพราะการขับขี่ด้วยความเร็นวสูง และกฎหมาย รวมทั้งบทลงโทษที่ไม่เด็ดขาด ส่งผลให้แต่ละปีมีผู้เสียชีวิตจากอุบัติเหตุรถชนในเคนยากว่า 3,000 ราย

Investigators are still searching the scene and warned the death toll could rise. “We will require a proper examination to determine if there were people burnt completely at the scene, where bones were found,” Chief Charles Chacha said. It took two hours for firefighters to reach the scene. /anews/
