ฮือฮาพบเหรียญโรมัน 1,650 ปี สลักภาพจักรพรรดิ “วาเลนติเนียน” ผู้เหี้ยมโหด
ฮือฮาพบเหรียญโรมัน – วันที่ 3 ก.พ. ซินหัว รายงานว่า องค์การโบราณวัตถุอิสราเอล (ไอเอเอ) เปิดเผยการค้นพบเหรียญโบราณในพื้นที่ตอนใต้ของอิสราเอล ซึ่งมีอายุ 1,650 ปี และถูกสลักภาพพระเศียรของ จักรพรรดิวาเลนติเนียนที่ 1 (Valentinian I)

เหรียญดังกล่าวถูกค้นพบโดยนักเรียนกลุ่มหนึ่ง ขณะกำลังเดินป่าใกล้ลำธารเบซอร์ โดยด้านหนึ่งถูกสลักภาพพระเศียร พระนาม และพระยศของจักรพรรดิฯ
ส่วนอีกด้านมีคำจารึกเกี่ยวกับพิธีการของชาวโรมัน ซึ่งจัดขึ้นทุก 2-3 ปี เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่จักรพรรดิโรมัน โดยเหรียญนี้ถูกผลิตขึ้นที่โรงกษาปณ์ในเมืองอันทิโอก ซึ่งอยู่ทางตอนเหนือของซีเรียในปัจจุบัน
ทั้งนี้ จักรพรรดิวาเลนติเนียนที่ 1 หรือวาเลนติเนียนมหาราช ปกครองกรุงโรม ช่วง 364-375 ปีก่อนคริสต์ศักราช ซึ่งเหล่านักประวัติศาสตร์สมัยใหม่ระบุว่าพระองค์เป็นจักรพรรดิที่โหดเหี้ยม และยุคนั้นเกิดสงครามตามแนวชายแดนของจักรวรรดิอย่างต่อเนื่อง
